Mandalay - U Bein Bridge

After Mingun, we decided to go to U Bein Bridge, which is the world longest teakwood bridge (1.2km long), and it has stood the test of time for two centuries.
For me, the attraction is actually the life on the bridge.

Daniela is a Yoga teacher in Berlin, and we decided to do some yoga postures together.

Life on the bridge
It always intrigues me how people could balance so many things on the head.

Monk on the bridge
.
This monk knew that I was taking photo of him, but he was very nice and we smiled at each other.
Look at the face of the kid beside the monk. I think he was abit unhappy. haha...

All Burmese guys have to ordain as monk at least 2 times in their lives. One at 12 years old and another time at around 20 years old.

Catching fish at the River.

The river is extremely dirty with faeces of ducks floating on the water. Basically, the guy jus dived and remained submerged in the water for sometime, before he resurfaced with fishes in his net. How exactly does it work? i`m not sure too.

School Kids on the Bridge

In fact, alot of Burmese (like the boy on the left) have good facial features.

Another View from the boat.
Watching sunset on the boat was very peaceful and enjoyable. =)

Boon trying to be the boatman.
Verdict: Boon is not a natural boatman, but is trying very hard.
